Wizz Air only allows certified assistance or guide dogs for passengers with disabilities. No other pets, including cats, birds, or small mammals, are accepted in-cabin, as luggage, or as cargo under any circumstances.

General Policy Overview

  • PETS IN CABIN: Only officially certified service or guide dogs (for disability/assistance) permitted, with prior approval. Emotional support animals not recognized.
  • PETS AS CHECKED BAGGAGE/CARGO: No pets accepted as checked baggage or as cargo on any Wizz Air route. No exceptions.
  • BREED/SIZE RESTRICTION: No breed rule for recognized guide dogs if certified and able to travel safely/thread country rules.

Important Guidance for Service Dog Travelers

  • Notify Wizz Air at booking (and at least 48 hours before departure) about your intention to travel with a guide or assistance dog.
  • Prepare and submit all official documents, including certificate of training and any country-required entry paperwork (EU Pet Passport, health certificate, vaccination record, microchip, etc.).
  • Dog must be on leash/harness during flight and must sit at handler’s feet; dog must not occupy a seat.
  • Only one guide or assistance dog per flight is permitted. Early notice is essential for availability confirmation.

Woofly Tips

  • Plan alternative transport for non-assistance animals—Wizz Air does not accept pets for any reason other than certified disability travel.
  • For service/guide dogs, bring all original paperwork in-hand plus digital scans.
  • Check with destination country for any quarantine or entry requirements for assistance animals, especially when flying outside of the EU.
