Important Guidelines
- Book your pet as early as possible, as space for pets in both cabin and hold is limited and must be reserved in advance (no last-minute check-ins accepted).
- Only healthy, fully weaned dogs and cats accepted; minimum 3 months old, all vaccines and documents current (EU pet passport, rabies vaccine, microchip, import/export docs for destination).
- Cabin carriers must be soft, leak- and escape-proof, max 47x30x27 cm, and fit under the seat. In hold, hard-sided, IATA crate max 75 kg (incl. animal); one animal per crate.
- Snub-nosed breeds allowed only at owner's risk, and may only travel in cabin or under special conditions in hold (not during heat/extreme temps; some routes embargoed). Fighting/attack breeds not allowed at all.
- Pets are not accepted on flights to/from Great Britain, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Finland, and some other countries/routes. Always check route eligibility before booking.
- Arrive at the airport no less than 2 hours before departure to accommodate check-in and pet inspection requirements.
Woofly Tips
- Start the booking and paperwork process well ahead of time, as spontaneous pet travel is never allowed and spots fill early, especially during holiday seasons.
- Let your pet get used to its carrier at home before travel to reduce stress and avoid denied boarding due to visible anxiety or crate issues.
- Always bring paper and digital copies of all documents (passport, microchip, vaccine records, import/export permits) for every segment and layover, as checks occur at every station.
- If traveling with a snub-nosed or at-risk breed, get written confirmation from Transavia, and double-check destination/import rules and any seasonal embargoes (e.g., during summer heat).
- Call Transavia customer service well ahead for specific crate requirements, exceptions, or temperature embargoes by route or breed.
