Important Guidelines

  • Only small dogs and cats allowed in cabin (≤20 lbs including carrier); book early and pay $125 per animal per flight (non-refundable except for exceptions).
  • Pet/carrier must fit completely under seat; only one animal per carrier permitted; must remain in carrier at all times at airport and in flight (no exceptions).
  • Pet must be clean, healthy, quiet, and non-disruptive; JetBlue can refuse boarding for disruptive, sick, or non-compliant animals.
  • No pets permitted in checked baggage/cargo, nor on Mint® international routes or any flights to/from Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, and certain South American and UK/EU airports; always check route eligibility before booking.
  • On international flights, a health certificate, import/export papers, and destination-specific pet requirements (including microchip/rabies proof) are enforced; for US domestic, bring all vaccine records for rapid check-in.
  • Every pet must wear a JetPaws® bag tag given at airport check-in by a JetBlue agent.

Woofly Tips

  • Book the pet reservation at ticket purchase or as soon as possible via JetBlue's website or by phone – animal spaces are limited per flight.
  • Familiarize your pet with the carrier well ahead of travel; pets distressed or not used to carriers are often denied boarding.
  • Pre-measure and weigh both pet and carrier to avoid last-minute issues or flight refusal at the gate.
  • Check all import/export and destination-specific rules if flying internationally—countries may have quarantines, special vaccinations, or outright bans.
  • Bring both digital and paper copies of vaccination, health certificates, and booking confirmations. JetBlue staff and border agents may request original documents at any leg of a journey.
  • If you need to travel with two pets, buy an adjacent seat in the same name to permit a second in-cabin pet. Each must remain in its own carrier at all times.
  • Service animals are allowed free with correct documentation, but emotional support animals no longer qualify for special accommodation—they must travel as pets and pay all fees/compliance.
  • Never sedate your pet before flying unless advised by a vet, and notify the crew if the animal is medicated.
