IndiGo Airlines only accepts certified guide and service dogs for passengers with disabilities in the cabin. No other pets, including emotional support animals, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, or fish, are allowed anywhere on IndiGo flights.
General Policy Overview
- PETS IN CABIN: Only officially recognized and fully trained service/guide dogs are permitted, with advance notice, valid documentation, and for eligible disabled passengers. Emotional support animals are not recognized.
- PETS AS CHECKED BAGGAGE/CARGO: No pets at all are accepted in the hold or as manifest cargo under any circumstances.
- BREED/SIZE LIMITS: No breed restrictions if dog is certified, but must meet all country entry rules and be able to travel safely in the cabin.
For Guide/Service Dogs
- Notify IndiGo at booking and again at least 48 hours prior to travel, providing copies of certification and medical documentation.
- Service animals must stay leashed or harnessed and seated at the traveler’s feet—never in a seat or the aisle.
- Passenger must carry all required disability and animal paperwork and comply with the rules of destination/arrival country.

- For all other pets, use a specialized pet transport service—IndiGo does not carry pets other than certified service animals.
- Always double-check country import requirements and IndiGo’s current documentation rules before booking your flight with a service dog.
- Submit documents and confirm dog eligibility as early as possible, as space per flight is limited.
