Important Guidelines

  • All pet travel must be pre-booked and documented; airline and destination rules vary, so check early and thoroughly.
  • Containers must meet IATA standards and fit airline size/weight requirements; carriers must fit under seat for cabin pets.
  • Service and assistance dogs travel free with advance notice and proper documentation.
  • Pets must be healthy, fully vaccinated, and meet microchip and rabies vaccination regulations as per destination country law.
  • Birds, reptiles, and fish are never cabin or hold pets, only cargo arrangements with specialized forwarders.
  • Fee is charged per pet/carrier for cabin or hold; fees vary depending on route and pet size.

Woofly Tips

  • Check what operator holds your flight (Finnair/Norra) as carrier size and policies slightly differ.
  • Book pet travel as early as possible to ensure availability on desired flights.
  • Make sure to acclimate your pet to its carrier well ahead of the journey to reduce stress during travel.
  • Always have both digital and hard copies of all relevant paperwork (passport, vaccination certificates, microchip info, import/export permits) ready for all border stops.
  • Confirm pet policy updates and route-specific restrictions, especially for breed restrictions or embargoes to/from specific countries.
