Important Guidelines

  • Book all pets early—cabin and hold spots are limited and sell out, especially for summer or peak travel.
Pets must be healthy, fully weaned, and at least 4 months (16w) old.
  • Cabin carrier max 8kg (pet+bag), soft, ventilated, waterproof, max 40x30x30 cm, and must fit under seat. Hold: hard, IATA crate; up to 50kg (incl. pet/food/water); only one animal per crate except for small litters up to 8 weeks.
  • Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds may only travel in the cabin and not the hold during summer (or specific embargo hours); dangerous breeds must be in reinforced crates and sent as cargo.
  • No pet hold travel permitted on connections in Madrid between 11am–8pm, June 15–Sept 15, due to heat restrictions.
  • No birds, reptiles, fish, rabbits accepted as regular pets in cabin/hold—arrange as cargo with all permits and timing set in advance.
  • Always have health, vaccination, import/export/quarantine papers, and, for US-bound dogs from Aug 2024, a valid CDC Import Form; microchip ID required for most destinations.

Woofly Tips

  • Familiarize your pet with the approved carrier at home; check size/weight with scales and tape measure well before the flight.
  • Bring both paper and digital copies of all documents—health certs, EU Pet Passport, import/export permits, bookings, microchip, etc.—for every border or layover.
  • Confirm the rules for your breed, route, and date—Air Europa’s embargoes and regulations change seasonally and by country law
