Important Guidelines
- Puppies/kittens must be at least 12 weeks old and have completed the rabies vaccination process (vaccine must follow ISO microchip application and be effective for 21+ days; pets must be a practical minimum of 105 days old to fly)[1].
- Advance reservation is required for all pets—book online for lower fees or call the airline for advice.
- Carrier/crate must comply to size and escape-/leak-proof standards and be large enough for the animal to stand, turn around, and lie down naturally.
- Pets are not accepted for direct travel to the UK, and some connecting flights/countries may restrict pet travel—always confirm route eligibility before booking.
- Dangerous breeds or snub-nosed (brachycephalic) pets may be banned from traveling in hold during summer/heat; the airline reserves the right to refuse any animal for safety reasons.
Woofly Tips
- Book your pet as early as possible, especially for summer or international journeys. Capacity is limited and documentation must be correct at check-in.
- Prepare your pet's carrier several weeks before your trip to get your pet used to it and reduce stress.
- Always bring original and a digital copy of your pet's microchip, rabies certificate, health/vet certificate, import/export documents, and booking confirmation.
- Check with all destination/transit authorities for updated animal travel laws and required vaccinations.
- Never sedate your pet without veterinary consultation before flight. Label your animal's carrier clearly with your contact info.
