General Policy Overview
- PETS IN CABIN: Only small dogs and cats (≥16 weeks, ≤7kg including carrier) permitted, 1 per passenger, in Economy/Premium Economy only. Carrier must fit under seat (max hard: 36 x 33 x 19cm; soft: 40 x 28 x 25cm), waterproof & ventilated.
- PETS AS CHECKED BAGGAGE/HOLD: If pet exceeds cabin size/weight, or for routes not allowing cabin pets, dogs/cats travel as checked baggage or cargo. Max 32kg/70lbs for Europe, Argentina, Venezuela; 45kg/99lbs elsewhere. Must use IATA crate.
- PETS AS CARGO (Manifest): All other pets (birds, rabbits, reptiles, fish) require specialist arrangement through LATAM Cargo. Also required for embargoed breeds/species, or when traveling to countries with extra import controls.
- BREED RESTRICTIONS: Snub-nosed (brachycephalic) and "dangerous" breeds not accepted as hold pets, except limited Brazilian domestic routes. Full list changes—always confirm before booking.
- EMOTIONAL/SERVICE ANIMALS: Service dogs permitted free in cabin on all eligible routes; emotional support pets allowed on some LATAM flights within South America/USA/Colombia; must meet size, doc, and route rules.

- Banned breed/pet list changes—contact customer service and read latest policy for your route.
- For U.S. entry: dogs must be at least 6 months, microchipped, and CDC rules must be followed. For EU: 7 months from South America, strict vaccination and import rules.
- Arrive 3 hours prior domestic, 4 hours international for check-in with pet.
