General Policies & Restrictions
- PETS IN CABIN: Only certified assistance/service dogs (≥4 months old) allowed; advance booking and paperwork required.
- PETS IN CHECKED BAGGAGE: Dogs, cats, birds allowed as checked baggage if pet+crate ≤32kg (70 lbs). Puppies/kittens 3–6 months, up to 2 per crate (<14kg each, same litter) allowed.
- PETS IN CARGO: All pets (any species) over 32kg (w/crate), plus reptiles, fish, rabbits and some routes, must use Singapore Airlines Cargo, following all international and local rules.
- BREED RESTRICTIONS: No snub-nosed/flat-faced species (incl. Pugs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzu, Persian/Himalayan cats, etc.) or banned/aggressive breeds. Confirm with airline’s latest list.
Pet-Specific Travel Tips
- Dogs: Only service/assistance dogs allowed in cabin (≥4 months, all paperwork required, no “emotional support” status). Other dogs as checked baggage or cargo depending on weight.
- Cats: Never allowed in cabin; checked baggage or cargo by weight.
- Birds: Many permitted as checked baggage; doc/species limits by destination. CITES/health docs often required.
- Reptiles: Cargo only; all permits, CITES, and IATA rules apply.
- Fish: Cargo only, in secure/leak-proof tank; health, export/import docs mandatory.
- Rabbits: Not specifically listed; generally cargo only, check with airline in advance for full details and fees.
Container, Weight & Sizing Rules
- IATA-approved crate required. Max crate height by aircraft: 70cm (A350), 60cm (A380), 101cm (B777), 111cm (B787).
- Checked baggage: Pet + crate max 32kg. If over, book as cargo.
- Baggage charges for pets/containers are separate and not included in free allowance.
- 2 puppies or kittens (3–6 months, ≤14kg each, same litter) may share crate.
